6 months agoThe chocolate cake tasted absolutely disgusting!! For a £100 cake I was AT LEAST expecting thin layers of cake + buttercream but no. It was TWO DRY THICK LAYERS of cake with buttercream icing in the middle to separate it?? It looked nice but that’s about it. Don’t recommend.

a month agoRude service , wanted a cake design for my 18th but couldn’t get it ( WHICH WAS OK ) so I then gladly settled for another design which I ended up liking… fast forward to my birthday I found out the cake shifted in the box ( giving in mind that we were VERY careful with the box/cake ) and we also found out that the sponge was quite dry also the buttercream was quite sweet too but was as bad a the sponge…. Another because of the why the cake had been made etc… I never got to try MY Birthday cake which has deeply upset me and the fact I could tell my family didn’t like the cake either…. Fast forward to when I took the cake into the bakery the day after my birthday the lady who was speaking to us even tried MY cake ( to see how it tasted etc…) in front of after we’ve even told I never got to try any of my cake at all … the lady then took what was left of my cake to the back and said someone would be in touch ( which wasn’t until like 4 ish day later ) Now my mum has had to chase you guys (bakery )us to see what has happened with my Original cake and everything….. The owner ( we think ) answered the phone and was so rude to my mum saying I was trying to get my own way Because I didn’t get the cake design I originally emailed to them ( which I also stated to my mum and everyone I didn’t care about because I ended loving the cake design I had in the end ) and the lady was talking about to my mum like I was some kind of baby and eventually said they wouldn’t refund my mum back for my birthday cake ( which I think is just wrong ) and that they also wouldn’t be making another cake even if it was smaller than my Original Cake which wouldn’t have been bad …. It instead The lady said all they could make for me are some CUPCAKES yes CUPCAKES as a replacement for A BIRTHDAY CAKE. How unbelievable is that … I’m absolutely livid that how this is how this has been dealt like ….. How do you expect to have good customer feedback and service if you treat customers like rubbish …. If you can’t treat your customers right how are you supposed to have a good business/reputation? I’m just very disappointed and shocked about how this has all been dealt like Won’t ever been going or recommending this business to Anyone ever again Because not only do you not notify your customers on how the cake is actually made but you also have the most rudest customer service I think I’ve ever seen/heard in my life

2 years agoI ordered my sons 21st birthday cake from Gardners Bakery in Northampton. I had looked at their pictures online and saw one that I liked but needed to make some changes. I knew I wanted a red velvet drip cake with goal keeper gloves on top. I had no idea what colours I wanted, but the lady I spoke to on the phone was so helpful, She gave me some ideas, and I sent her a photo of his goalie gloves which they copied, from the make, to a little muddy! He loved it.

2 weeks agoMe and my sister had our birthday cakes from here for over 15 years, We stopped a few years ago as the cake was extremely dry compared to how it used to be, Had a slice from in shop today to see if was still dry, its still dry, cake feels and tastes like its been frozen then defrosted and served, I wouldnt reccomend to anyone, cakes look nice but the taste isnt worth the money
